Tigard 3/4 White

We had a great week of practice.  We were able to end it with a jamboree on Saturday.  In my book the jamboree was a huge success.  We were able to get everyonene there and see what they can do in a game situation.

I have been coaching youth football for several years.  I have never thrown the ball so much (some of my former coaches were amazed to see the ball in the air at this level), it is exciting to see the ball in the air and then the anticipation of whether it is going to be caught.  We probably will not throw that much, but I wanted to see if I could get everyone eligible an opportunity to get a ball thrown their way.   Both quarterbacks (Heinke/Goetz) were not afraid to put the ball in the air!  They did a great job, while some of the recievers showed we definitely need to keep the ball going vertical.  Pittmon had a few receptions that resulted in long yardage, Kuffel had a nice catch in traffic!

I think our lineman were a little suprised on how hard the other team were coming at them, but they held their ground and made some holes for the running backs, not to mention they gave the QB’s time to throw the ball.  Skylar had a couple of tough runs up the middle, always kept the ball moving forward.

I can’t forget the D, Harrold started it off with an interception which got the blood flowing for the rest of the team.  I think everyone got in on a tackle or was close to one.  They flew to the ball.

I am excited to see what we can do!!
